The HI782 Checker® HC for nitrate in seawater is a handheld colorimeter that determines the nitrate concentration colorimetrically according to the Lambert-Beer principle. The Nitrate Checker was specially developed for measuring high nitrate concentrations in a marine aquarium. The range of 0.0 to 75.00 ppm is suitable for reef aquariums stocked with fish or with fish and corals. Nitrate is a byproduct of the nitrogen cycle. Excessive nitrate levels in a reef aquarium can promote the growth of undesirable organisms, including algae and dinoflagellates, while insufficient levels can cause coral bleaching.
The CHECKER® HC mini photometers offer an interesting alternative between simple chemical test kits and compact meters. The handy photometers combine precision with an affordable price and are very easy to operate thanks to their large LCD and just one button. The automatic switch-off function ensures the longest possible battery life.
Ideal for aquariums and marine biology.
